Gift Planning News

The Charitable IRA rollover is now permanent!

This is a great way to avoid taxation on IRA distributions and make a significant gift to UCLA.

Here's how it works:

  • You should be 70½ or older at the time of the gift.
  • Funds should be transferred directly from your financial institution to The UCLA Foundation.
  • Transfers must be made from a traditional IRA.
  • Gift can be any amount, up to $105,000 per person ($210,000 for a couple with separate IRAs).
  • Satisfies the annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
  • Allows you to make an additional tax-free gift, even when you have maximized your annual charitable deduction.
